12:38 PM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Chevron ( CVX ) has been approached by the Venezuelan government to supply an essential feedstock after a US warship blocked the path of a Russian naval vessel near its coast, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people with knowledge of the situation.
Chevron ( CVX ) can load crude oil only once it has supplied Venezuela with a shipment of diluent naphtha, used in pipelines to help oil flow, the report said.
A ship booked by Chevron ( CVX ) was scheduled to load crude oil at Venezuela's Jose terminal, but instead sailed to the US Virgin Islands to load naphtha, the report said.
An explosion at a Venezuelan oil facility disrupted naphtha supplies, the report said.
Chevron ( CVX ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
