06:30 AM EDT, 04/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- China's Huawei Technologies is preparing to test its latest artificial intelligence processor that it hopes could replace certain higher-end products of US chipmaking giant Nvidia ( NVDA ) , The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Huawei has reached out to certain Chinese technology firms regarding testing the technical feasibility of the new Ascend 910D chip, the unnamed sources told the news outlet.

The company hopes that the new processors will be more powerful than Nvidia's ( NVDA ) H100, the Journal reported, citing one of the sources.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Huawei did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
