12:32 PM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Chubb ( CB ) chief executive Evan Greenberg, and other American business leaders and delegates are due to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping next Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The business executives are attending the two-day China Development Forum, which is starting this weekend in Beijing. The meeting with the Chinese president is expected after the conference, the news outlet reported.

Other delegates to meet the president may include Stephen Orlins, president of the National Committee on US-China Relations, and Craig Allen, president of the US-China Business Council, according to WSJ.

Beijing may cancel the Xi meeting at the last minute, the report cautioned.
