07:16 AM EDT, 07/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cisco Systems ( CSCO ) will provide digital solutions for Bahrain's government information and telecommunications network, Bahrain's state news agency reported Wednesday.

The digital solutions deal is part of a broader $17 billion investment package between Bahraini and US companies aimed at strengthen cooperation across the fields of aviation, technology, industry, and investment, the report said.

The deals were announced during a visit to Washington by Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the report said.

Separately, plans were announced for an 800 kilometer multi-fiber submarine cable that will connect Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq to global networks, the report added.
