Market Chatter: Citigroup in Talks to Provide Clearing Services to Angola's BFA

11:42 AM EDT, 10/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) has held discussions with Banco Fomento de Angola, or BFA, about providing dollar and euro clearing services, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

BFA, Angola's second-largest lender, is considering opening correspondent accounts with Citigroup ( C ) as part of its efforts to restore ties with major international banks, the report said.

The Luanda-based bank reached a similar agreement with Deutsche Bank, Bloomberg said.

Citigroup ( C ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
