Market Chatter: Citigroup Offloads Loan of Troubled Swedish Debt Collector at Discount

04:06 PM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) sold 55 million euros ($59 million) portion of a revolving credit facility issued to troubled Swedish debt collector Intrum at a discounted rate to an unidentified fund, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the situation.

The fund purchased the loan on Wednesday, Bloomberg reported, although the sale price was also not disclosed. The transaction occurred after the fund approached the bank.

Representatives for Citigroup ( C ) and Intrum declined Bloomberg's requests for comments.

Neither companies immediately responded to MT Newswires' request for comment.
