06:42 AM EDT, 07/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) intends to increase its investment banking headcount in Japan by up to 15% over the next year and add staff in Australia, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a company executive.

"We are hiring and strengthening our regional investment banking team in a very meaningful way," Jan Metzger, Citi's Asia Pacific investment banking head, told the news agency. "We're going to be in the market that's growing phenomenally and we're going to be growing faster than the market."
