Market Chatter: Comcast Plans to Add Regional Sports Channels to Peacock Streaming Service

04:01 PM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Comcast ( CMCSA ) intends to bring four regional sports channels to its Peacock streaming service by early 2025, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the plans.

The NBC Sports networks hold local broadcast rights in Boston, Philadelphia and across Northern California covering games for the Golden State Warriors, Celtics and Phillies, according to the report.

The company has not finalized details for the rollout and is considering offering the sports channels as add-ons in the local markets, the report added.

Comcast ( CMCSA ) declined MT Newswires' request for comment.
