07:10 AM EDT, 06/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CoreWeave ( CRWV ) has won a key role in Alphabet unit Google's ( GOOG ) new cloud partnership with Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Under the arrangement, CoreWeave ( CRWV ) will provide computing capacity to Google's ( GOOG ) cloud unit. Google ( GOOG ) will then sell the capacity to OpenAI to meet the increasing demand for ChatGPT and other services, the unnamed sources told the news agency.

Google ( GOOG ) will also offer some of its own computing resources to the parent of generative artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, according to the report. CoreWeave ( CRWV ) signed up Google ( GOOG ) as a customer in Q1, Reuters reported.

CoreWeave ( CRWV ), Google ( GOOG ), and OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

CoreWeave ( CRWV ) shares were up 2.6% in recent premarket activity Thursday, while Alphabet fell 0.7%
