06:58 AM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Critical Metals (CRML) shares soared over 70% pre-bell Monday after a Reuters report said the Trump administration is eyeing an equity stake in the company.
The potential investment, valued at about $50 million for roughly an 8% stake, would give Washington a direct interest in the Tanbreez rare earths deposit in Greenland, the report said.
If finalized, the deal would mark the administration's latest move to secure critical minerals after taking stakes in Lithium Americas ( LAC ) and MP Materials ( MP ) , according to the report.
The Tanbreez project is the largest rare earths deposit in Greenland.
Critical Metals did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
