07:55 AM EDT, 08/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CVS Health ( CVS ) is currently holding off on offering COVID-19 vaccines in 16 states due to the "current regulatory environment," The New York Times reported Friday, citing company spokesperson Amy Thibault.
The company is waiting until the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends the vaccines before offering them nationwide, as pharmacists in some states are not allowed to administer them without the endorsement, the spokesperson told the news outlet.
According to the report, the states where CVS is not currently offering the vaccines are Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia, along with the District of Columbia.
CVS did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
