04:11 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CVS Health ( CVS ) is leaving the infusion health services business it bought for $2.1 billion more than a decade ago and shuttering 29 infusion-related pharmacies in upcoming months, Reuters reported Friday, citing a company spokesperson and an Oct. 8 company memo.
The company has already stopped accepting patients seeking antibiotics, muscle supplements, and vitamin injections, Reuters reported. But it will continue to provide nutritional tube feeding at pharmacies in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and San Diego, as well as nursing services, the report said.
Workforce reductions will be announced in November, Reuters reported.
The 29 pharmacies specializing in infusion services may be sold off instead or shuttered, the report said.
CVS Health ( CVS ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
