03:10 PM EST, 11/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) and Aeromexico won a temporary pause on a US Department of Transportation order requiring the carriers to dismantle their nearly nine-year joint venture by Jan. 1, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.
A US appeals court granted the stay as the airlines challenge the DOT decision, which they argue would impose significant, unrecoverable costs if unwound before the case is resolved, the reports said. Delta said it welcomed the court's move, while Aeromexico said the partnership remains in place during the review.
The DOT order was issued in September as part of broader US actions citing competition concerns in Mexico's aviation sector, according to the reports.
Delta Air Lines ( DAL ), Aeromexico, DOT did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
Shares of Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) were down 1.11% in recent Thursday trading.
