07:32 AM EDT, 08/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Disney ( DIS ) has proposed a sports-focused package and other options in its efforts to renew a distribution deal with satellite TV provider DirecTV, Reuters reported late Thursday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The sports-focused package would combine Disney ( DIS ) networks ESPN ( DIS ) and ABC, Reuters said.

DirecTV is asking Disney ( DIS ) to allow it to sell smaller, cheaper packages, the report said. The deal is set to expire Sunday. If no agreement is reached, DirecTV's subscribers could lose access to Disney ( DIS ) content.

Disney ( DIS ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
