Market Chatter: Disney to Meet With Jimmy Kimmel Over Show's Future
Sep 20, 2025 11:49 PM

07:00 AM EDT, 09/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney Co. ( DIS ) executives are scheduled to meet with suspended talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday to discuss the future of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The discussions will reportedly focus on the possibility of the show returning, with the earliest date set for Monday.

Disney's ( DIS ) ABC network pulled the show after pressure from the Federal Communications Commission and local station owners, following controversial remarks made by Kimmel on Sept. 15, the news outlet reported.

Disney ( DIS ) is eager to return to the show, but the resolution will depend on reaching an agreement that satisfies both Kimmel and his critics, while Kimmel himself has not been asked to apologize, and he has no plans to do so, Bloomberg quoted the sources as saying.

Disney ( DIS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
