Market Chatter: Disneyland Employees to Secure $233 Million Payout in Finalized Settlement
Sep 17, 2025 2:53 PM

05:36 PM EDT, 09/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney ( DIS ) has received final court approval for its $233 million settlement with more than 51,000 Disneyland employees who alleged the company denied them a living wage, Bloomberg reported late Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Orange County Superior Court Judge William Claster deemed the settlement "fair, reasonable, adequate, and aligned with public policy."

The settlement allocates $17.5 million in civil penalties to the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, $35 million for employees' legal fees, and covers additional administrative expenses, the report said.

Walt Disney ( DIS ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
