05:52 AM EDT, 03/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Dollar Tree ( DLTR ) is close to selling its Family Dollar business to a group of private-equity investors for about $1 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The buyers are Brigade Capital Management and Macellum Capital Management, the unnamed sources told the news outlet, adding that a deal could be announced later Wednesday.

Dollar Tree ( DLTR ), Brigade, and Macellum did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Dollar Tree ( DLTR ) shares were up 2.8% in recent premarket activity.
