07:20 AM EDT, 09/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ecopetrol ( EC ) expects to exceed its 2025 target of drilling 10 oil wells by 20% to 40%, Reuters reported, citing Rafael Guzman, the company's vice president of hydrocarbons.

Six wells were drilled in the first half of 2025, with two proving successful, according to the report.

Daily oil production currently stands at 751,000 barrels per day, slightly above the company's upper target of 750,000 bpd, the company said, according to the report.

The company hopes to bring in partners for five oil fields within the next 18 months through production-sharing agreements, Guzman said, according to Reuters.

Ecopetrol ( EC ) also hopes to replace 100% its oil reserves this year, targeting one barrel added to reserves for every barrel produced, the report said.
