Market Chatter: Eletrobras Sells Eletronuclear Stake to J&F's Ambar Energia

01:18 PM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Eletrobras (EBR) has agreed to sell its stake in state-run Eletronuclear to J&F's energy unit Ambar Energia for 535 million reais ($98 million), Reuters reported Wednesday.

Under the agreement, Ambar will take on Eletrobras' responsibilities, including guarantees and a $2.4 billion reais debenture payment, the report said. Ambar will hold 68% of Eletronuclear's capital and 35.3% of voting rights after the transaction, Reuters added.

Eletrobras didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of the company were up 2.5% in recent trading Wednesday.
