09:12 AM EDT, 05/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Eni (E) is considering spinning off stakes in its Indonesia and Ivory Coast oil and gas projects to focus on cleaner energy activities, Reuters reported on Monday, citing sources at the Italian energy company.

This "satellite model" allows Eni to find additional funding for "new, greener products" while meeting the demand for fossil fuels, Reuters quoted Chief Financial Officer Francesco Gattei as saying.

Eni did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
