04:20 PM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- EPIC Crude pipeline's owners are exploring a potential sale that may value the Texas oil transport network at roughly $3 billion, including debt, Reuters reported Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Its owners EPIC Midstream, backed by Ares Management ( ARES ) , together with Diamondback Energy ( FANG ) and Kinetik ( KNTK ) , have hired bankers and begun talks with prospective buyers, said the report.
According to the report, the pipeline, which includes 6.8 million barrels of storage capacity and could be expanded to handle 1 million barrels per day, is considered one of the few remaining scalable crude transport systems in the Permian.
The report indicated that any potential deal would likely be valued between $2.5 billion and $3.5 billion, though a transaction is not guaranteed.
Ares Management ( ARES ), Diamondback Energy ( FANG ) and Kinetik ( KNTK ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
