11:12 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ericsson (ERIC) received a new multibillion-dollar 5G contract from India's Bharti Airtel, Reuters reported Monday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.

The report said most of the deployment is set to take place in 2025, adding that the contract is expected to increase Ericsson's revenue in 2025 following a large dip in contracts from India in H1 2024.

The Swedish telecommunications company is scheduled to report Q3 results on Tuesday.

Bharti Airtel didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment. Ericsson declined to comment.
