12:11 PM EDT, 03/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Former Barclays ( JJCTF ) analyst Anca Lacatus, who won a sex discrimination lawsuit against the bank in 2021, is seeking much as 1.3 million pounds ($1.6 million) in compensation from the bank, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
Lacatus won the suit after her boss described women as "birds." She also won a claim that Barclays ( JJCTF ) didn't adjust her working hours despite having a disability. Lacatus worked at the bank from 2016 until 2020.
Her lawyers asked judges at a Tuesday hearing in London to grant the compensation, including losses to future earnings, Bloomberg reported, citing documents prepared for the case.
A Barclays ( JJCTF ) spokesperson declined to comment, Bloomberg reported. Lawyers for the company will present their arguments on remedies later at the hearing this week, according to the report.
Barclays ( JJCTF ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
