02:08 PM EDT, 08/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) consortium's oil production in Guyana dropped to between 400,000 and 500,000 barrels per day from July 2 to the end of the month, Reuters reported Monday, citing government data.
The company said earlier this year that it would close two offshore oil production vessels in Guyana for two weeks each between July and August to connect a natural gas pipeline for a new power plant and gas-processing facilities, the report said.
According to the government data seen by Reuters, oil production from two of the consortium's floating production units was paused from July 19 to July 31, but production from a third unit continued. On June 30, the three vessels were producing up to 669,000 barrels per day.
Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
