02:59 PM EST, 02/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) and SLB (SLB) are looking at lithium investment opportunities in Chile, Reuters reported late Wednesday.

Exxon is planning to meet with Chilean authorities to discuss the matter, the report said, citing a registry of lobbyist meetings and a person familiar with the matter.

SLB recently met with Chilean mining officials amid the US oilfield services company's expansion into lithium, the report said.

Neither Exxon nor SLB immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
