Market Chatter: Exxon Mobil to Undertake Major Gas Project in Guyana
Feb 19, 2025 11:26 AM

02:09 PM EST, 02/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) is embarking on a project that will expand its natural gas business in Guyana and provide gas for fertilizer production, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a company executive.

The company's Wales Gas Vision initiative, outlined by Exxon's Guyana head, Alistair Routledge, comes amid the Guyanese government's call for more gas to fuel onshore power and petrochemical projects.

Exxon will provide gas for the production of fertilizers in Guyana via a $1 billion pipeline completed last year, according to the report.

The company did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
