05:03 AM EDT, 04/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) has withdrawn an offer to sell two initial cargoes of liquefied natural gas from its Golden Pass export plant in Texas, Reuters reported Thursday citing two people familiar with the decision.
The sources did not give a reason for the withdrawal, according to the report.
The plant has been operating at about a third of its capacity since it started production late in March, Reuters said citing data from financial firm LSEG.
The Golden Pass project, 30% of which is owned by Exxon and 70% by QatarEnergy, has faced delays and cost overruns since its construction began in 2019, the report said.
Exxon did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
