Market Chatter: First Solar Among Manufacturers to Get Protection from New Round of Solar Panel Tariffs
Nov 29, 2024 5:57 AM

08:35 AM EST, 11/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- First Solar ( FSLR ) and other US solar panel manufacturers could get additional protection from foreign rivals as US trade officials are expected to announce on Friday a new round of tariffs on solar panel imports from four Southeast Asian nations, Reuters reported.

First Solar ( FSLR ) and Korea's Hanwha Qcells were among a group of companies that filed a petition earlier this year asking the Biden administration to impose tariffs on panels coming from Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand to protect investments in US solar manufacturing, the report said.
