02:43 PM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Florida Department of Health, in partnership with Governor Ron DeSantis, is taking steps to end all vaccine mandates in the state, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo.

State lawmakers will have to "choose a side" to end all the mandates, the surgeon general said at a event in Valrico, near Tampa, the report said, adding that governor DeSantis has the power to end only some vaccine rules.

Pfizer ( PFE ) and Moderna ( MRNA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of Pfizer ( PFE ) and Moderna ( MRNA ) were down about 1%, respectively, in recent Wednesday trading.
