06:28 AM EDT, 09/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor Company ( F ) said it will slash up to 1,000 electric car production jobs in Cologne, Germany, amid weak demand, Reuters reported Tuesday.

The US carmaker reportedly said it will switch production at the Cologne plant to single-shift operation from January 2026, and will offer voluntary redundancy packages to those affected by the job cuts.

The company did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
