Market Chatter: Former US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin Putting Together Group to Acquire TikTok

08:43 AM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Former US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is planning to put together an investor group to buy TikTok, CNBC reported Thursday, citing an interview with Mnuchin.

"I think the legislation should pass and I think it should be sold," the report quoted Mnuchin as saying. "It's a great business and I'm going to put together a group to buy TikTok."

Mnuchin did not provide details, the report said.

TikTok did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
