Market Chatter: Fubo Seeks Preliminary Injunction Against Fox-Disney-Warner Sports Streaming Service
Aug 6, 2024 11:24 AM

02:07 PM EDT, 08/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FuboTV ( FUBO ) attorneys appeared before US District Judge Margaret Garnett on Tuesday in Manhattan for a multiday hearing to determine whether a preliminary injunction should be issued against the three giant media companies seeking to produce a joint sports streaming service.

Fox (FOX), Disney ( DIS ) and Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) are planning to launch their service -- Venu Sports -- this fall for $42.99 per month. But Fubo, which sued the companies in February, is arguing that the joint venture would prevent competitors from offering sports-only streaming packages.

Fubo is seeking an order that would temporarily prevent the trio from proceeding with the venture or enforcing any contractual provisions that would stop Fubo from offering a competitive service while the lawsuit proceeds, Bloomberg reported.
