09:23 AM EDT, 07/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Zeekr Intelligent Technology ( ZK ) may enter the South Korean market as early as 2026 with its Zeekr 001 premium electric vehicle as Geely and other Chinese automakers look to enter the country's EV market, Bloomberg News reported Friday.
Geely Automobile reportedly told Bloomberg that Zeekr, an upmarket EV brand under Geely, will open showrooms in Seoul and Gyeonggi by the end of 2025 and begin deliveries in Q1 2026.
Zeekr 001 may be the first model to be released in South Korea, but plans aren't final, the report said.
Faced with tariffs Europe and the US are levying on autos imported from China, Chinese carmakers are seeking to enter other markets.
Geely did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
