06:50 AM EDT, 09/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) shuttered production in Ecuador on Friday as part of a plan first announced in April, Reuters reported.
The company said in April that its plant in Ecuador would stop producing cars at the end of August and that it would begin winding down production in neighboring Colombia immediately.
The Ecuador factory employs 320 workers, Reuters reported.
General Motors ( GM ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
