02:55 PM EDT, 07/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) is temporarily halting production at its Silao, Mexico, pickup truck plant, impacting output of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, Reuters reported late Friday, citing people familiar with the situation and confirmation from the company.

The plant was shut during the first two weeks of July and will pause again during the weeks of Aug. 4 and Aug. 11, the media outlet reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.

The shutdowns are part of routine efforts to manage and optimize production at the facility, Reuters reported, citing the company.

GM did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
