07:18 AM EST, 11/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- General Motors ( GM ) will recall 461,839 vehicles, including certain 2020 to 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2021 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon models, due to a transmission control valve, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
According to the report, the issue could cause rear wheels to lock up, increasing crash risk.
Dealers will update transmission control software for free and General Motors ( GM ) will cover repairs for defective control valves, Reuters said. The company ahs also instructed dealers to halt delivery of affected vehicles.
