10:23 AM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Goldman Sachs' ( GS ) asset-management business is raising funds to help distressed private equity firms and portfolio companies, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Many private equity firms have struggled to return cash to investors amid a lackluster scenario for M&A deals and initial public offerings and are facing a liquidity logjam, the report said.
Goldman is pitching a $10 billion fund with combinations of debt and equity, known as hybrid capital, the report said, adding that hybrid capital funds expand financing from private credit firms to private equity firms that want to keep increasing investments or send more back to their investors via dividends.
Goldman also has been in the market to raise $15 billion for the latest version of its flagship secondaries fund, Bloomberg said, adding that the fund is designed to invest in PE stakes and continuation vehicles.
Goldman didn't immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
