07:22 AM EDT, 05/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google is betting corporate and government customers will opt for its productivity software rather than Microsoft's ( MSFT ) Office due to Microsoft's ( MSFT ) alleged cybersecurity failures and Google's discounted pricing plan, Bloomberg reported Monday.
Google is reportedly offering one-year free Google Workspace Enterprise Plus and deep discounts to government agencies that switch 500 or more users to Workspace for three years, Andy Wen, senior director of product management for Workspace, said. Corporate clients that sign a three-year contract are offered 18 months free, a large discount, and incident response services from Google's Mandiant security business, according to the report.
Google and Microsoft ( MSFT ) didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
