01:37 PM EDT, 09/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) offered to divest its advertising marketplace AdX after the European Commission launched an antitrust probe targeting the search engine's lucrative business, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing two people with direct knowledge of the matter.

European publishers dismissed the proposal because they want Google ( GOOG ) to divest more than just AdX to address conflicts of interest with the company's role in many levels of the adtech supply chain, the report said,
