Market Chatter: Google Offers Additional Changes to Search Results to Avoid EU Fine
Oct 14, 2025 11:22 AM

01:55 PM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) has revised its July proposal to propose additional changes to its search results in an effort to avoid a potential European Union antitrust fine, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a document.

Google ( GOOG ) said its latest proposal aims to address calls for its search results to have the same information, functionality and features as those from third-party vertical search services, the report said.

"We will create the opportunity for each VSS to show its own box on Search. A VSS box will be populated with results from that VSS inventory," Google ( GOOG ) said in its proposal, according to the report.

Google ( GOOG ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
