Market Chatter: Google Ramps Up AI Capacity With $40 Billion Texas Data Center Investment
Nov 14, 2025 2:15 PM

04:54 PM EST, 11/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's Google ( GOOG ) plans to spend $40 billion through 2027 on three new Texas data centers, expanding its footprint as the nationwide race to build AI computing capacity accelerates, Bloomberg reported Friday.

According to the report, one site will be built in Armstrong County and two in Haskell County, including a facility co-located with a solar and battery storage project to help reduce strain on the Texas power grid.

The investment will create thousands of jobs, provide training for students and apprentices, and support energy-affordability initiatives across the state, Alphabet Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said.

Google's ( GOOG ) shares were up 1.7% in recent after-market hours activity.

Google ( GOOG ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
