07:19 AM EST, 12/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) removed negative reviews about McDonald's (MCD) after the suspect in the assassination of UnitedHealth ( UNH ) Chief Executive Brian Thompson was arrested at one of its restaurants in Pennsylvania, Reuters reported late Monday.

McDonald's was bombarded with bad reviews after Luigi Mangione, 26 years old, was captured at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania where he was spotted eating, the report said.

"These reviews violate our policies and have been removed," a Google ( GOOG ) spokesperson was quoted by Reuters as saying.

Google ( GOOG ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

UnitedHealth's ( UNH ) Thompson was shot outside a Manhattan hotel on Wednesday morning by a masked suspect.
