11:35 AM EDT, 07/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) has been fined 5 million rubles ($58,169) by a district court in Russia over its alleged failure to comply with a government order on banned content, Reuters reported Wednesday.
TikTok, which is owned by Chinese company ByteDance, was fined 4 million rubles over the same issue, according to the report, which citing the Moscow courts' press service.
Google ( GOOG ) and TikTok did not immediately reply to requests for comment from both Reuters and MT Newswires.
