01:46 PM EDT, 06/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Waymo, which is owned by Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ), has paused its rides in downtown Los Angeles after multiple vehicles were damaged due to the ongoing protests, NBC News reported Monday.

The autonomous driving technology company provides driverless rides from Santa Monica to Marina del Rey and east to downtown along the 10 Freeway, the news report said.

"We will not be serving any rides in the protest area until it is deemed safe," a Waymo spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Waymo didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
