01:55 PM EDT, 09/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor Company ( HMC ) submitted new information that linked another death in the US to defective Takata air bag inflators, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The US agency, which is overseeing the recall of vehicles containing the faulty product, has confirmed 28 US deaths as a result of the defective air bag inflators, the report said.

Honda ( HMC ) said Tuesday it has confirmed 20 U.S. deaths in Honda ( HMC ) and Acura vehicles, Reuters reported.

Honda ( HMC ) and the traffic safety administration didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
