03:08 PM EST, 11/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor ( HMC ) will resume regular operations at its North American vehicle assembly plants from Monday, as the shortage of Nexperia chips further eases, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a company spokesperson.
The company spokesperson further said that the Japanese automaker has "secured a certain level of chip supply such as by sourcing alternative components," according to the report.
Output had been halted at Honda's ( HMC ) Mexico plant on Oct. 28, while production was adjusted at factories in US and Canada from Oct. 27 due to the chip issue, Reuters said.
The plan to resume normal operations next week could change as the situation remains fluid, the spokesperson added, according to the news outlet.
Honda ( HMC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
