Market Chatter: House Cybersecurity Subcommittee to Block, Remove ByteDance Products

12:11 PM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The House of Representatives' cybersecurity operation is set to block and remove all ByteDance products, including TikTok, from all House-managed devices and app stores, Politico reported Tuesday, citing a notice to House staffers.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee will begin the process Aug. 15 with mobile devices followed by the desktops to remove apps such as Capcut, Lemon8, Lark and Hypic, according to the report.

House Administration Committee had already authorized the removal of TikTok from House devices, the publication said.
