07:19 AM EDT, 06/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- International Business Machines ( IBM ) had held takeover talks with Informatica ( INFA ) before Salesforce ( CRM ) agreed to acquire Informatica ( INFA ) in a deal worth about $8 billion, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Salesforce ( CRM ) agreed to buy the cloud data management firm last month in a deal expected to close early in Salesforce's ( CRM ) fiscal 2027.
"We were lucky to be the winning bid," Salesforce ( CRM ) Chief Executive Marc Benioff recently said, according to the Bloomberg report.
IBM ( IBM ), Informatica ( INFA ), and Salesforce ( CRM ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
