11:24 AM EST, 11/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The Competition Commission of India instructed Meta Platform's (META) WhatsApp to refrain from sharing user data for advertising purposes with other applications owned by the social media company for a period of five years, Reuters reported Monday.
The competition watchdog also levied a $25.4 million fine on the US tech giant over antitrust violations, according to the report.
Meta did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
