05:00 AM EDT, 06/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Indian investigators are likely to delay issuing a final report into a fatal Air India Boeing (BA) 787 crash by the one-year anniversary Friday, as they need to complete an analysis of the aircraft's engines, Reuters reported Thursday, citing a source with knowledge of the matter.
The aircraft was powered by engines manufactured by GE Aerospace (GE).
According to a preliminary report released in 2025, the 787's engine fuel control switches moved almost simultaneously to "CUTOFF" from "RUN." This starved both engines of fuel shortly after take-off, according to the report.
Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
